Riding Mountain National Park in Early Fall – day 2, part 1

I was up and out exploring before the sun rose hoping to catch a sunrise, but the sun had too much trouble peaking out from behind the heavy cloud cover.  After the sun rose, there was a bit of blue sky here & there, but not many sightings of the sun all day.

I started out on  #19, thinking that I might get the sun coming up over one of the streams, but got pictures of the streams anyway.

Then a beautiful Spruce Grouse allowed me to visit with him and take some pictures.

I decided to head into Wasagaming to have brunch and then a walk on the Ominik Marsh trail.  I can’t remember which places I ate at each day, but during my stay, I had meals at the White House Bakery, the Boardwalk, the Lakehouse and Foxtail Cafe.

Sign at the entrance to the walk, but it isn’t closed and I know how to use caution.

I was almost back to the beginning when I saw these 2 critters.  I didn’t know what they were, but the friendly & helpful people on the Riding Mountain National Park Facebook group advised me that they are Fishers.  They didn’t stay for photos and by the time I got my camera up, the first one was disappearing.

I went back to my room to check out the pictures and hang out on the deck before heading back out in the later afternoon.  Just took a couple of view photos from the deck.
