Assiniboine Park Zoo in the Winter

There is a lot of good views of the critters in the Assiniboine Park Zoo in the winter. Most of the animals live in the climate that we have here and get much more active in the winter than in the summer, when they would rather find a shady place to sleep.

I went there yesterday when I was not volunteering, so I can enjoy watching and taking photos.

First up were the Bison, but I only took a couple of photos of Blizzard.

Then I stopped at the Wolves.

Alaska, the Arctic Fox was next, but she was sleeping.

Then it was time for the Polar Bears and they certainly did not disappoint me. Bears just wanna have fun!

The last 5 photos were taken inside the Tundra Grill where I stopped to have a great breakfast. 🙂 The bears were right outside the window wall.

Then I headed over to the Snow Leopards.

Then it was time to head for the Stingrays. The Zoo has Cownose and Southern Stingrays.

Toucan Ridge was next.

It was a great day for a good outdoor walk. There are several spots in the zoo where you can go inside to warm up or to look around. This brought me back to the entrance, so I was then on my way home.
