It felt like spring here in Winnipeg and with a temperature forecast to be -1C, it was time to find a spot in nature. The Provincial parks offer free entrance in February, and it has been awhile since I’ve been there, so I put a few sunflower seeds in my pocket and headed there.
I stopped at Cedar Bog Trail and decided to give it a try. I’ve actually never walked any of the trails in Bird’s Hill, but there is a good chance I’ll buy myself a Provincial Park pass and be back there again.
I took a few photos with my phone as I walked. I didn’t have my camera with me, so the phone had to do. As always, you can click on one and then scroll through them at a larger size.
I met a couple of people walking dogs and, of course, stopped to pet the dogs and talk to the owners. I have to get a doggy fix as often as I can. 🙂
The sunflower seeds came with me in case I met any Chickadees along the walk. I did meet some, but most were not quite brave enough to come to get the seeds from my hand. They did pick them up if I put any on the ground though. And they did get very close to me – almost close enough for me to touch (except that they would not have stayed for that.
This one landed, but flew too soon for photo BUT – he came back 🙂
Of course, I didn’t look at the map before heading out on the trail, or I would have known that when I got to a crossroad, I could have followed either one and still ended back at the parking lot. Instead of following either one, I turned around and headed back on the same trail. Next time I will continue on.
