For the last couple of years, I’ve been hearing about Cardinals being seen around the Bunn’s Creek trails. Before that I had never heard of Cardinals being anywhere in Canada except Southern Ontario. This year on a Facebook page, I have seen plenty of photos of these beautiful birds taken at Bunn’s Creek in Winnipeg – so this morning I googled mapped it and headed there. It turns out I lived very close to there about 50 years ago – in my first apartment.
There is a beautiful little park – and I parked my car in the parking lot there and started walking. I saw Chickadees and Nuthatches but not a Cardinal in sight.
A Downy Woodpecker was very busy hammering a tree, so I managed a photo when he stopped for a second.

Further on a Fox Squirrel stopped long enough to say hello and for me to take another photo.

But all was not lost because the views were beautiful and I enjoyed my walk on this frosty morning. I talked to a few people and got to pet some friendly dogs also.
I must get out on that trail. So pretty! My sister lives nearby.
We could walk our dogs.

I agree – it is very pretty and the paths are nice & wide so meeting people is fine. There were quite a few dogs out today. 🙂
