The last time I went to Fort Whyte Alive, I was prepared for wet & muddy paths and I wore my pair of rubber boots. The boots came in very handy as I waded through water & mud in a few spots. Today, I decided that it hadn’t rained in a few days and the paths should be better. I was wrong!
As always, my first stop is across one of the lakes to the Eagle nest.

They were there and posed for a photo!
Of course I wandered around looking for more photo opportunities.

Now, I can see why it is closedDock is under water and bench is in the water due to the flooding
Coming from the opposite direction there was a sign that said CAUTION – Trail Flooded, but since it wasn’t closed, I (of course) continued until I reached the flooding. Usually this lake is about 15-20 feet away from the trail – but today, it was over the trail.
