My daughter Angie has plans made for the days I will be here and everything sounds so great. Today’s excursion was out to Othello-Quintette Tunnels, which is in a Provincial Park. Here, the Coquihalla River has dug a deep canyon (Coquihalla Canyon) with its rushing waters. The tunnels go alongside the river and cross over it at times, since the river has many bends.

My fitbit counted over 15,000 steps and 18 floors on that walk. I was a little stiff this morning, but it didn’t take too many steps to relax.

When we got back to the city, I went with Angie and Squish back to her place where I was re-acquainted with her cat Craven. I saw him a couple of years ago when I was here, but otherwise it has been years since he lived in my house as a kitten and young cat. He remembered me though and came to say hi and get some petting. He doesn’t pose for photos, so this is the best I could do. He is not a youngster any more – but – neither am I. 🙂

For dinner, we went to The Captains Boil, a seafood place to have a crab dinner. It was a unique experience and the crab was wonderful – but. There were no prices on the menu – the food was served in a plastic bag – everything together (corn on the cob, potato and crab), there was no cutlery (but they gave us scissors to cut the shells – which worked fine), there was no salad or biscuits (as Red Lobster has us accustomed to), and we didn’t see the waitress again until we got up to find out the cost and pay for it. She didn’t even come back to ask how it was.

It was very expensive considering that the crab would have been caught very close to here and they would not have shipping costs like the restaurants in Winnipeg. We expected that it would be less expensive here than it is in Winnipeg, but it was quite a bit more with less service and less variety of food.

That ended our day, so back to my room to relax and get ready for bed.
