It was a chilly morning (for August) when I decided to head north to Birds Hill Provincial Park where I could walk on the Cedar Bog Trail. It seems like its been awhile since I’ve been out there, but especially since I’ve walked this trail.
Rain wasn’t in the forecast, but there were some very dark clouds hanging around as I started out and during my walk, it changed from grey to blue and back to grey a few times, so I wasn’t sure if I would be getting wet on this walk or not.
My first sky photo was as the clouds let the sky through. A downed tree on the path Poor tree – glad it left room to walk by it though Look at that sky now The trail goes on This shows a trail that is used, and it crosses my trail, but I’m not about to follow it. Keep on walking – it is only 3.5 km Sky is a little grey again The trail got a bit narrower after we past the short-cut Grasses are beautiful & green We’ve reached bog part with big old pine & cedar trees I love these big old trees, but this part is almost finished Heading back towards the parking lot now Clouds are getting darker Just keep on walking Going up a hill now and around a bend Dark clouds, but there is some blue up there
This is near the end of the trail. And I finally found a critter who was willing to pose for a photo at the end. I did see and hear a few Chickadees, but none of them would allow photos today.
I was just a few steps away from the parking lot when I got the Ground Squirrel’s photo and then I stopped in front of the garbage & recycling containers.
At that point, I was at my car, so I’m off to another location.
There were 2 cars in the parking lot when I arrived, but I did not see anyone on the entire trail today. When I returned to the parking lot there were 2 different cars there. First time I’ve ever walked this trail without meeting people. It was lovely and peaceful.
