I’m glad I planted quite a few perennials over the years that bloom in the spring and early summer, so I can enjoy them this spring. I have decided not to plant any annual flowers this year, since they normally look their best in the late summer and autumn and I won’t be living here… Continue reading Flowers are Blooming
OK – it finally looks like I have survived the cold of the century. For the last 3 weeks I have been practically down and out with the nastiest cold I have ever had. I continued to work – since I need a paycheque to survive, but had a constant supply of Tylenol and/or Advil… Continue reading Whew!
My flower bed is now showing signs of life. Warmer weather is still hiding from us, but that isn’t stopping the Tulips from poking through the ground and this year my Crocus are up and blooming already. 🙂 It is time for me to get out there and start the yard cleanup.
Even though spring is late here, I sure love watching the plants and flowers come alive. Most of today’s pictures were taken in my yard, but I had to sneak next door 😉 to get a couple of pictures of the daffodils there. (Sorry I disturbed your girls Jamie). So, today, I have the daffodils… Continue reading Today’s Flowers
It is another gloomy and drizzly day here so pictures are without sun – but this is spring and we do need the rain. As always, I would like to request that it rains all night – a nice steady rain – and then the sun comes out in the mornings. I think that would… Continue reading Flowers and Ducks
Everyone knows Tulips. I was going to say knows and loves, but although most people love Tulips, I can’t say that everyone does. I guess I really can’t even say that 100% of people even know Tulips. 🙂 Tulips come in many different colours and types. Just in my yard I have 3 completely different… Continue reading Tulips
We survived Chester’s birthday 🙂 We didn’t find any critters on our walk, but under a cloudy sky I decided to take pictures of the plants that are still emerging. The lilies that I had been wondering about have now made an appearance, much to the delight of the bunnies – so I hope they… Continue reading See the Garden Grow
I realize I promised Chester pictures today, but decided to wait until his birthday on May 1st, although I may show one or 2 tomorrow, since I took more of him today. 🙂 My plum tree is starting to flower, my tulips are starting to bud and I have lilies (I think) coming up so… Continue reading Let the Garden Grow
The last 2 mornings have been below zero, but the good news is that it is supposed to get warmer the next few day. It will still be minus over night and in the mornings, but the day times should be nice. 🙂 It was -9C when Chester and I went for our walk. I… Continue reading Chilly Spring Day
Its a gloomy day here and only 11C when Chester and I walked along the Red River this morning. We got our walk done in between showers and thundershowers that started last night and are supposed to continue for the rest of today. I only took one picture on the walk today – of one… Continue reading Gloomy Monday
