I mentioned in my last post that I had taken more photos of Daisy. For some reason, I had’t been able to transfer the photos to my pc and I don’t have Word Press on my phone. My fingers are too big to post anything to Word Press from my phone anyway. So – I… Continue reading Daisy

A Weekend with Daisy
I’m sure by now that everyone knows how much I love critters (of any kind). So, I am thrilled when someone asks me to look after their critters. Daisy’s family was going to be away from early Friday morning until mid afternoon on Monday and since she couldn’t stay alone, I was asked to come… Continue reading A Weekend with Daisy
My Morning Photos
This morning was perfect for taking photos from my balcony. Until yesterday I had not seen (or heard) the doves in many years. When I owned my home in Winnipeg, there had been Mourning Doves who often visited, and nested nearby – but in the last few years they had completely disappeared. I really love… Continue reading My Morning Photos
A Little Walk
This morning I had an appointment at my bank (or I thought I did – but more on that later). My car is on vacation in another city, so I got up nice & early to have enough time to walk there. I have walked this distance a few times since I moved here about… Continue reading A Little Walk
Greater Vancouver Zoo
I had to head for the Vancouver area this morning and decided to leave a bit earlier than required, so I could stop in at the Zoo. Looking back at my posts, it seems my last visit there was in March. The last time I was there, the birds were still under lock-down due to… Continue reading Greater Vancouver Zoo
I Am BACK
After downloading and trying several different photo apps, and having trouble with the new learning curves, I was almost at the giving up point. But a couple of days ago, I saw a link to download my trusty old and no longer available photo app – Microsoft Photo Gallery. I clicked on that link and… Continue reading I Am BACK
A Walk Around Sardis Pond in Sardis Park
The pond in Sardis Park is actually quite small, but it certainly attracts the birds and critters to it. Usually I take about 3 walks around the pond. Mom Mallard Duck with plenty of ducklings and a zoomed in photo to get a closer look.
Great Blue Herons and Bald Eagles
Obviously these birds are not friends – but they do have an interesting relationship that I was not aware of when I arrived here last summer. Back in Manitoba where I spent most of my life, I would see Bald Eagles on a regular basis, but very seldom saw Great Blue Herons. I would always… Continue reading Great Blue Herons and Bald Eagles
I Had to Go Back to the Great Blue Heron Reserve
After seeing the adorable Great Blue Heron chick on my last drive over to the reserve, I knew that I’d be back on the next sunny day – so that is where I went yesterday. The above Mourning Dove and the below Spotted Towhee were both very co-operative & the Towhee even allowed photos with… Continue reading I Had to Go Back to the Great Blue Heron Reserve
Finally – A Baby Heron!
Each time I headed out to the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve, I was hoping to see a baby – and until today, it was always just wishful thinking. But today -I found one in a nest with a parent standing guard. It is difficult to even see the nests with all the green leaves… Continue reading Finally – A Baby Heron!
