It was a beautiful morning today, so I decided to head over to Fort Whyte Alive for my morning walk. If you click on the first photo of each group, you can scroll through larger pictures. I put a lot of photos in this one, so smaller ones are shown on this page. On the… Continue reading My Walk at Fort Whyte Alive

Lakeview Trail
My last walk of the day was the Lakeview Trail – around the lakes in Birds Hill Provincial Park (the place where I was completely lost last winter). It is so much easier to walk on the paths instead of wading through hip deep snow while not knowing where the path actually was. I don’t… Continue reading Lakeview Trail
Cedar Bog Trail
After breakfast yesterday I drove over to the Cedar Bog trail for a little longer walk than I had at Prairie Winds trail. The temperature was warmer for this walk than the earlier one. That ended this trail and tomorrow we will continue with my 3rd walk.
Prairie Winds Trail followed by Pine Ridge Hollow
After my last maintenance problem with my car, I haven’t driven on the highway since – until today. I didn’t go too far, but have been wanting to get back to Bird’s Hill Provincial Park and that is where I went. It is only about 13 km on the highway. My first walk of the… Continue reading Prairie Winds Trail followed by Pine Ridge Hollow
A Fort Whyte Alive Walk This Morning
It was a chilly morning today, when I headed over to Fort Whyte Alive with my camera. The first tree I noticed has changed the leaves to yellow instead of the green they have been all summer. I guess autumn has officially arrived. I do love autumn, but it is just too close to winter.… Continue reading A Fort Whyte Alive Walk This Morning
Bunn’s Creek in the Early Autumn
Yesterday morning I decided it was time to go back to Bunn’s Creek for my walk. It has been about a month since I’ve been there. My first sighting was a beautiful Belted Kindfisher. He was on the opposite side of the creek and he tested my camera’s zoom ability. Amazingly enough, I got a… Continue reading Bunn’s Creek in the Early Autumn
Assiniboine Park – English Gardens & Duck Pond
I decided I needed a bit more of a walk than I had voting yesterday, so decided to head over to Assiniboine Park, to walk and take photos. First stop was the English Gardens. I waited (as I avoided the sprinklers) for the Hummingbird to return, but she didn’t. So, I left and headed over… Continue reading Assiniboine Park – English Gardens & Duck Pond
Birds, Flowers, Street Work & Voting
I was awakened early this morning with machinery sounds as workers were outside my window working. I was surprised they were working this early as it was before 7:00 am – but they were. I rolled over to try to get back to sleep – but it was too noisy, so I finally decided I… Continue reading Birds, Flowers, Street Work & Voting
Always Something to see at Fort Whyte Alive
I’ll start with my “before leaving home” shots. My Sunflower plant still has flowers but much smaller than the first ones and just at the bottom of the plant – and a Blue Jay on the tree just off my balcony. Then I headed over to Fort Whyte Alive to see what I could find.… Continue reading Always Something to see at Fort Whyte Alive
A Walk in the Assiniboine Park Zoo
After leaving the Gardens at the Leaf, I headed back to my car, which I had left parked in the zoo parking lot. At that point, I thought I should head into the zoo. I haven’t wandered in the zoo with my camera for some time. Many of you know that I volunteer in the… Continue reading A Walk in the Assiniboine Park Zoo
