Finally – Back to RMNP – part 3

I… Continue reading Finally – Back to RMNP – part 3

A Stroll Around Assiniboine Park

After a big Saturday morning breakfast, I decided to head over to Assiniboine Park to see what I could see. I started out at the English Gardens to check on the hole in the tree that had been made by the Pileated Woodpecker earlier in the spring. A Short Stroll before Vaccine Time

My COVID vaccine appointment is for the afternoon today, but I still need some time to walk (instead of sitting around on the computer at home) – so I went to Assiniboine Park to check out the English Garden and to see if I can find the Pileated Woodpecker again. No luck on finding the… Continue reading A Short Stroll before Vaccine Time

Geese, Ducks and More

It was such a beautiful morning yesterday, so I headed back to Fort Whyte Alive to walk after the snow had melted. The wind died down, the sky was blue and the temperature was back above 0C. Actually, it was about 10C and absolutely perfect for walking. Happy Easter!

Fort Whyte Alive after a Fresh Snow

This morning I decided to head over to Fort Whyte Alive and so that is what I did and arrived a few minutes after they opened at 9:00 am. A Morning Walk at Bunn’s Creek Trail

I was hoping that the beautiful weather we have been having would mean that the ice should have melted on the trails and for most of it, there was no ice. Most of the trail was dry, but parts were quite wet. I did run into an icy area and decided to turn around at… Continue reading A Morning Walk at Bunn’s Creek Trail

The Goats of Aunt Sally’s Farm

There are other critters at Aunt Sally’s Farm in the Assiniboine Park Zoo, but the goats are the main attraction and the interaction with the children will be amazing to watch. It is NOT a petting zoo – but the goats will be watching and interacting with all the visitors, especially the children. There are… Continue reading The Goats of Aunt Sally’s Farm
